i have read mike page and it was said he used to use a shimano baitrunner reel but has swapped to another reel without the baitrunner feature, and the reason i asked was because i may be able to buy one on the cheap from a freind who does carp angling, it was not a choice of going for the " rolls royce" over the toyaota.
anyway if that combination will work, its well worth the investment, and a travel type rod that will wotk here as well as florida(im going there this year) it means i wont have to buy 2 rods.
