E or Electrical glass has been the standard material for many years in various weights. Most rods have for some time been made from a mixture of glass and carbon fibres. It is the ability of the designer to incorporate the many variations. Terry Carroll made me an all glass rod for fixed-spool casting and I was in the top three at UKSF a number of times with it.
