Off The Ground Cast
Basic action shown without casting

Start by facing where you want to cast, go back 180 degrees then another 60 degrees or so. Lean back away from the cast with your weight on the right foot. Lay the lead out so the angle between rod and leader is around 90 degrees

Start to rotate into the cast but leave your arms ‘behind’ and begin to turn your head towards where you want to cast

Further into the cast, rod compression up to this point is achieved in main by body rotation. Note too the left arm is coming up and the right is getting into the ‘javelin’ position
